Homemade Chocolate Spread

You will be amazed to know that this homemade chocolate spread is made with no nuts but with chickpeas and is better than your store-bought Nutella jar. It’s not pricey at all, packed with protein and nutrients you need all day while you are on the go. Here is the recipe with the ingredients: –

Ingredients

1 Cup canned or boiled chickpeas

4 to 5 dates (pitted)

3 Tablespoons of cocoa powder

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

2 Tablespoons honey

1 teaspoon of coconut oil (optional)

¼ teaspoon of salt

1/4 cup of dark chocolate

A few tablespoons of hot water (if required)

 

Recipe

Add the strained chickpeas along with pitted dates in the food processor. Add rest of the ingredients and blend until a smooth paste.

Transfer the paste into an airtight jar and refrigerate it until it has a firm, thick butter-like texture.

Your homemade chocolate spread is ready to enjoy. You can store it for 4 to 5 days in the refrigerator in an airtight container preferably glass and have it anytime you want guilt-free snacking.

You can have it on whole-wheat bread with peanut butter like a sandwich. Also you can use it in puddings and desserts. The best thing  is that it tastes just like real nutty butter spread and is prepared within few minutes.  Savings a few bucks by making this delicious Homemade Chocolate Spread isn’t a bad idea at all .
